Head of Business Finance Sweden to COWI AB, Gothenburg

About the Role 

As Head of Business Finance Sweden, you will play a key role in steering COWI’s Swedish operations towards continued growth and excellence. You will combine strategic business partnering with strong financial leadership, ensuring compliance and resilience while driving performance. This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated finance team and shape COWI’s future as part of an ongoing global transformation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and develop the Swedish finance function of approx. 15 people, including 8 direct reports. 
• Ensure high-quality accounting, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance. 
• Act as a business partner to the Swedish leadership team, driving business performance and co-piloting business planning. 
• Provide strategic and financial insights to support decision-making and ensure delivery on key expectations. 
• Be a pro-active member of the global Finance Leadership Team 
• Contribute to the ongoing global finance transformation, focusing on standardization and digitalization. 
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

About You 

You are an experienced finance leader with the ability to combine strong financial expertise with strategic business acumen. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are motivated by transformation, and are passionate about enabling business performance through finance. With strong leadership skills, you empower teams, build trust, and inspire collaboration. You bring: 

• 10+ years of experience in finance/controlling, including leadership of teams of 15–20 people 
• Strong expertise in business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting 
• Solid accounting and compliance knowledge 
• Proven ability to drive performance management and business insights 
• Experience with digitalization, systems implementation, and data-driven decision making 
• Academic degree (MSc) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Business Administration 
• Fluency in Swedish and English 

Additional merits include experience from project-based businesses, professional services, or the infrastructure/construction sector, as well as background in change management.
