    Join the executive team of a global marine insurer and take charge of finance strategy and a USD 500m investment portfolio. We’re looking for a senior finance leader to shape the future from HQ in Gothenburg.

    As our current Director Finance approaches retirement in early 2026, we are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking finance leader to join our top management team and play a pivotal role in our continued success.

    Your Role
    Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the Executive Team, contributing to both strategic and financial direction. For the parent company and its branches, you will have overall responsibility for:

    • Financial Strategy & Planning – Develop and oversee The Club’s financial strategy, aligning it with business goals. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, including long-term projections, and evaluate capital allocation decisions, including investments.
    • Financial Reporting & Analysis – Ensure accurate group-level and local statutory, regulatory and management reporting, Provide financial performance reports to management and the Board and its subcommittees. Maintain efficient financial communication with members, brokers, authorities and rating agencies.
    • Capital Management & Risk – Optimise capital structure, ensuring capital adequacy and alignment with regulatory and rating ambitions. This job includes asset-liability management, and monitoring risk exposures in close collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer.
    • Investment management / CIO role – Responsible for the global management of investment assets, including strategic asset allocation, manager selection, performance monitoring, and ensuring that investments align with the risk appetite of the Club, return expectations, and regulatory conditions.
    • Actuarial Coordination – Collaborate with actuarial competences on pricing, reserves, loss ratios, and product profitability. Review and challenge loss reserving assumptions and methodologies.
    • Operational finance leadership – Guide experienced teams in Gothenburg handling accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder relations (members, brokers, auditors, regulators, and rating agencies). Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and continuous improvement.
    • Strategic collaboration – Partner with fellow directors on growth initiatives, product innovation, reinsurance strategies, and compliance matters.
    • Oversight of compliance with Solvency II and other relevant financial regulations in Sweden and abroad.
    • Close cooperation with regulators (Finansinspektionen, foreign regulators) and auditors.
    • Accountability for Board and Committee governance on financial matters (Finance & Audit, Risk Committees).

    You will be a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors and maintain a close working relationship with the Finance & Audit Committee.
    What You Bring

    • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting (professional accreditations are an advantage).
    • Senior management and/or board-level experience, preferably from a regulated sector (insurance, banking, or financial services).
    • Proven track record in strategic and tactical allocation within international fixed income and equity portfolios.
    • Strong background in accounting, financial planning, and reporting.
    • Experience working in an international business environment.
    • Excellent command of English (spoken and written) and professional-level Swedish.
